Thinking and praying for you and your family at this great time of sorrow.

People walk in and out of our lives every day but every once in a while, you know you’ve met someone truly brilliant. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting, working for, and being friends with Michael. Thank you for helping launch my career when I was just a green twenty-something, thank you for inspiring me with your creativity and dedication to your family, and thank you for many, many wicked laughs.
Michael, you will never be forgotten.
My deepest sympathies to Leona, Charlie, Lily and Ruairi.

Michael, your friends at Daily Bread Foods Bank will never forgotten your passion for our cause of hunger in Toronto and your great contribution to HOHOTO! You will be missed.

I wonder do they sink,
Winter lawns piled,
Heavy under hills of snow?
Springing back level, exhaling,
When April brings the Thaw.
A poem written by Michael in February 2009. Michael would have been 49 in April 2013

I am contemplating preparing a collection of Michael’s writings on social media and other issues of interest to him and his professional world, for publication in aid of Michael’s favoured charities. I would welcome suggestions for inclusion in such a work.

Hi Gerard,
Michael referred me to a client before he became very ill and we only spoke on the phone a couple of times. But I work in social media and if you’d like assistance compiling and editing a book of his writings for charity – I would love to help. sue . varty at gmail com (My company is HeadStart Social and my personal blog is wordtree dot ca for more info). ~Sue

Noscitur a sociis. You may know a man by his friends. The friendship shown to Michael is a testament to the man, and also to the quality of his many friends.
